OK, I beleve that I found the item and it is 184915512582. Is that
right? If so I apologize for taking so long in this tranzaction.
Because I am seriously injured and am unable to move from my bed (I
have taken very amazing photographs from my room window), I have to
wait until someone comes over to feed my cat. He is low on food and
my sister is due to come over and feed him. As soon as she does, I
will sent package, post haste.
Since you have been so kind and patient, I will explain more: The
reason I am hurt and cannot leave my bed, is because I saved a bus
full of chimps, when their bus veered off of a steep cliff (the driver
was also a chimp) and plunjed into a lake of icy water. I jumped in
and saved a few and as a result suffer from a form of amnisia, wherin
I forget what I’m also a big fan of the Costco polish dogs. So you
might be able to understand more full.

Dear Simon Bill from the Respectable Country, by Which the Niger Flows,
I am have some trouble in shipping the camera to you, since USPS is
chargng 5 dollars more than I had expected. My sister returned from
the post office today and gave me the unfortunate news (unbelievably,
she forgot the cat food). I had sent her down with a money order for
34.57 cents (what USPS told me it would cost) and she came back and
told me the total to ship the camera would cost 39.33 dollars.
I realize that it’s not fair for me to charge you the extra money, so
I am starting up a website to collect donations, which will allow me
to send the camera to you. If you are feeling particulary generous,
you can also donate to the cause. The website is
http://iamanigeriannogoodscammer.blogspot.com. I hope that this
doesn’t inconvenience you, too much.
Well, today when Jason and I were commuting into SLC, Jason pointed out a dust of snow in the mountains. I texted Patrick about this, this morning and he replied “Noooo”. I think that means that I win. So it’s official. First signs of snow this season. I’ll try to remember to keep track of the last time that I see snow next year. This is becoming a favorite Utah tradition for me.
This is a took that allows you to do many complex things that are common to admins.
After running “killall ntpd” and running “ntpdate pool.ntp.org”, my server finally update its time and now WordPress reports my posts correctly (time-wise).
I added ntpdate to my rc.conf, also.
There have been several times over the last couple of years that I’ve wished that I could script or program something to do a process for me on my servers. Right now, I have a directory on my server than contains several avi’s. Each of them are in a separate directory and so I have to change into each of them before I can push them onto the xbox. I need a program or script that will pull all avi’s out and move them into their own directory. Then I can just do a mass push and be done with it.
So I have a book, some websites, etc., so that I can start to learn this stuff.
So far, it appears that within quotations (for instance: “n” or ” “), we are telling the program that we want something specific. So our n means that we are sent to a new line. The ” “ means that we get a space put in our program results. So within two quotations is where we specify this kind of stuff, apparently.
Also, it appears that commas in perl break up sections of code.
Nmap takes advantage of network anomalies, to determine information about the network it surveys.
When firewalls accept or drop traffic, this helps nmap to determine what ports are open.
When nmap is uses port 80 to determine if a device is available.
TCP handshake consists of:
- Initial synchronize frame goes from source to dest
- Dest receives synchronization frame, sends acknowledgment back to source with it’s own SYN parameters
- Source receives ACK to orignial SYN, as well as SYN from dest. If everything looks good, source sends ACK to dest SYN.
This handshake occurs, evertime a TCP connection is established.
UDP traffic is interesting, because UDP doesn’t expect a handshake, confirmation packet, etc. It just sends traffic in good faith that it will arrive. It is called a “connectionless” protocol.
Because of this, if there is an error with a packet, it is not resent. You can hear the results of this in such things as VOIP. If a packet is dropped or corrupt, you might hear 1/10th of a second of conversation cut out. Many times, you won’t notice a thing.
TCP and UDP port numbers are different. TCP and UDP ports are unique to their individual protocols. A server that listens for TCP data on port 80 isn’t going to accept UDP traffic on port 80.
Because there is no formal handshake, UDP traffic is simply sent- no questions asked.
ICMP is a gossip protocol: It talks about anything is learns about on the network.
- Can identify an unreachable destination
- Redirect traffic to another network
- Identify routing loops
- Synchronize clocks
- Identify when a router is overloaded
Nmap uses ICP to a great extent, so when it’s available on a network, it makes the things a lot easier (for the curious). Smart networks don’t allow for ICMP, because it slows down a cracker’s job in accessing protected resources.
Nmap will send an ICMP request, before scanning.
Nmap Scanning Process
Nmap performs four steps in a device scan:
- If a hostname is used, a DNS lookup is performed, first. This DNS traffic will appear as network traffic and the query will be noted in the DNS logs. If an IP address is used, instead of a hostname, this step will not occur. There really isn’t a way to disable a DNS lookup when a hostname is specified.
- Nmap pings the remote devices’ IP. You can disable ping with the -P0 flag.
- If an IP address is specified as the remote device, a reverse DNS lookup is performed to see if there are any hostnames that might be associated with it. This seems like sort of the same thing that step one might do, except that sometimes you might get results returned, such as subdomain information.
If you don’t want to do that search for reverse lookup, just use the -n option.
- Nmap executes the scan
Nmap from the Command Line
Nmap should always be run by root, or privileged user. If you can’t run as root, you may not have all results returned that you need.

After installing the WordPress Backup login, I received errors because it didn’t like the permissions that I had on my wp-content directory. I temporarily changed them to 777, ran backup, then back to 755. It worked at that point and still seems to work with wp-content at 755. Refer to this site.
